We are seeking a Quality Engineer with strong experience in ASME Section I and Section VIII pressure boundary requirements, fabrication processes, and welding quality control. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our Quality Assurance program, working closely with engineering, fabrication, welders, and field operations to ensure compliance with all ASME Code, NBIC, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure products and fabrication processes comply with ASME Section I, Section VIII Division 1, NBIC, and applicable customer specifications.

Support preparation, review, and maintenance of Manufacturing Data Reports, Travelers, Weld Maps, and QC Documentation Packages.

Conduct in-process inspections of welding, fit-up, fabrication, and final assembly activities.

Coordinate and verify NDE requirements including RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT.

Maintain and update Quality Control procedures, work instructions, and code-required documentation.

Assist in management of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).

Work directly with Authorized Inspectors (AI) to schedule hold points and documentation reviews.

Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support internal and external audits, including ASME Joint Reviews.

Provide training and guidance to production teams regarding code requirements and quality expectations.
Qualifications
Required:
-
3+ years of experience in a pressure vessel, boiler, or heavy industrial fabrication environment.

Hands-on knowledge of ASME Section I and/or Section VIII Division 1.

Familiarity with welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW) and weld acceptance standards.

Strong understanding of NDE methods and acceptance criteria.

Proficient with reading P&IDs, fabrication drawings, isometrics, weld symbols, and material specs.

Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred:

Experience working with Authorized Inspectors (AI).

NBIC knowledge and experience with R Stamp repair work.

CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Experience with ERP or QC documentation management systems.
